Congratz :) same here, my wife got her passport back today with the visa. status of ECAS changed today also, even if visa is dated from April 16. :D

It was Manila Visa Office. and no communication, nothing, Visa was granted on 16 of April, but ECAS status changed today, same day we received the passport and all the documents we submitted.... a few weeks ago i requested to update the case as my status changed from PR to citizen of Canada...

Finally, today was D day. my wife got her visa :D, just on time so we didn't have to go for re-med. It was done on the 16, but we got it today, and ECAS status changed today too. Thanks god, the wait is over now. :)

well i don't know if it's a bad thing or a good thing. As in most of the embassy, PPR is at the very last moment... what makes me feel bad, is to see that for some who has sent it very recently, already they got DM status ......if we were missing something, i believe they could have asked for it...

yes my wife is. we got the PPR + some more documents right when it goes to "in process" status on ECAS in october, and were hoping to have the visa right after,.... but that was in october,... and since then, nothing T_T... still waiting...

for my wife, it's in process since October (Canadian Embassy in Manila). they requested some more documents at the end of October, and since then, nothing :( ... the wait is killing us .....

last year when i did it for my wife, it took less than 4 weeks. They are trying to have it done in less than 20 business days :) that is very quick compared to the rest of the process.

Manila Embassy asked for the passport at the beginning of the process. Unfortunately, i doesn't means it gonna be done soon. My wife sent her passport last October, and no news since then :( :( :(

don't worry, as long as you remove the laptop from your bag when to go through security check, there is no problem. Also sometimes, they do some check ( looking for trace of something by using a paper) but that's it, no request to turn it on or to check what's saved in the laptop. I'm traveling...

never had problem with external hard drive during travel. they don't care about it. they are more careful about laptops sometimes, but nothing to worry about

I don't want to be pessimistic , but the average now would be more like18+ month.... (82 days for Sponsorship assessment, and 17 month for the PR process at the embassy.... you can get the info on the CIC website.

Usually Quebec sent the Certificate to your sponsor, then he/she should send it to you (that's how it worked for me). they also send one to the embassy. the sponsor got 2 ( one for you to keep for when you land, one in case Embassy request for it again. check with your sponsor. I don't know how...
