The CBC has covered the story of an inland applicant from New Zealand who is struggling to get by while waiting for PR approval. What a terrible situation. I feel for anyone else who might be in a similar situation...
I'm going for my COPR interview later this week at a CIC office in Vancouver. Does anyone know if this means that I will be landing there? Or will I need to do a border run? What is the process after getting COPR?
Everything Aussam said. I think wait times depend a lot on your application and how complicated it is. The one advice I would add is to do your medical and pay all your fees (including RPRF) upfront like it says in the application guide. Each time they have to get in touch with you to tell you...
If it was me, I would email. Like you said, it's fast and reliable. It's also cheaper and saves paper. If time is of the essence, email seems to make the most sense.
Like MissRepresentation says, do your medical exam upfront and send in proof with your application. I would recommend paying your Right of Permanent Residence fee upfront too. Each time they have to stop and send you a letter to say get your medicals, pay your fee, etc, the longer it takes to...
Yes! It was super-fast. I was super-surprised.
I received a letter in the mail today, which says...
"You have been scheduled to appear for an interview and to receive your Confirmation of Permanent Resident Document at our office on December 19..."
Is that Confirmation of PR Document the...
I got PPR on the same day as SA. We received AOR two days prior. The PPR letter requested two photos, an updated information chart (appendix b) and photocopies of all pages of my passport. I mailed that off earlier this week to CIC Ottawa.
I got a letter in the mail today from CIC Vancouver...
I've noticed that other people seem to be getting PPR not long before the visa gets issued. I got PPR email on the same day we got SA email, which was 2 days after receiving AOR email. Although the PPR letter was issued from the Sydney visa office, the email the letter was attached to came from...
I also applied outland through the Sydney office, but our SA letter said this:
"You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. Accordingly, the Application for Permanent Residence for your relative(s) has been retained for further processing at CPC Mississauga."
We went from AOR...
I wouldn't be surprised if this is the case. I received an email from the Sydney Visa Office requesting copies of passport pages the same day my partner received his email saying he had been approved to sponsor. I'm one of those people living in Canada who chose to apply outland.
Received SA this morning by email, 2 days after receiving AOR by email. It's been 56 days since our application was received by CIC. Yay!
Edit: Just received email requesting photographs, an "updated information chart" and a photocopy of all pages of the applicant's passport.
