IF your gpa is good (3.5+) and if you have research experience (publications in international conf or journals) you can get funding in any university. I'd recommend Alberta, McMaster, McGill, Concordia or British Columbia. Fall semester has far greater funding than winter.

I beg to differ, Sehrish -- It's not like that. When they want to reply, they will reply. I emailed them in the night and they replied in the morning... though it was the same template text... "your application is in processing and no action.." I emailed them the second time, after like 3 days...

Taha, I think they're processing the undergrad apps first... the grad ones'll start later probably. I think the same happened previously, I can recount three people who got their visas like one week before the start of their classes. So, perhaps, our visas will be issued in the 25-30 Aug...

I'm sorry but you can not, not in Canada. Field experience doesn't matter for PhD. In the US, you could easily get admitted.

No mate, that's the general stereotype... I think with the prevailent conditions in our country, they're doing a more thorough background check. I applied well in advance... in May.. yet I'm stuck.

Same here, my degree completed on 2nd August though. And about the Embassy fee, you pay that in a Standard Chartered bank.
