    yes.. He got his loan sanctioned and paid 1st sem fees.. so acceptance + loan letter!!! NO GIC required for general filing.. thats good way to go for.. as 1st sem fees is considerably lower than GIC amount!

    If you have funds pay fees for 1st sem and GIC (Canadian Bank as asked). Apply for visa- makes life simpler GIC is anyways your money and only u'll get it in terms.. so whats wrong in putting money in some other bank than yours!!!

    Dalhousie is cheaper considering location of University. So go for it if you need to save money. Ottawa is heart of Canada (capital), expect more expenses but again more job opportunnities :) Considering Tuition fees.. it sums to same amount, difference off 1k -1.5k !!! per term

    Plenty of Jobs for Mech and production.. job is only cause of concern for guys with IT background By Rank Ottawa is better than Dalhousie and more process oriented, but it depends on you.
