I am not sure about this special sticker. But as far as I know, you definitely need a valid TRV to re-enter Canada. My student TRV was expired too and now I am also a worker here in Canada and I already got my TRV before leaving Canada to re-enter.

Hi I applied for TRV on Nov 12th and got approval on nov 25th. CPP ottawa received passport on Nov 26th and I got my passport back with TRV yesterday on 5th december.

I received my passport back yesterday. It took exactly 3 weeks for the whole process for me.

By the time you'll get your work permit, you'll be done with first two semesters. And if do good in the first two semesters then surely you'll be able to do good in other semesters while working part time.

I completed a 2 year Computer programmer program in 18 months and all my friends who got the visa for 3 year did the same course and we all graduated at same time and even applied the very same way.

They are really crazy as they don't even have a valid reason for doing so. I have applied now and just waiting for their reply now..!!
