Yes, I had my tracking number from the package and that is how, I say it reached the consulate. I did not receive any confirmation from them mentioning that they received my passport.

Do they usually send a confirmation email to the mycic account, stating that the passport has been sent out? Cos, even if they had issues sending it back thru UPS, they would have sent it thru cheapest USPS service(no tracking), for which I should have received a confirmation email?
