Cdn citizen moving back to Canada with American wife and new child born in US

I think a lot of people have been in a similar position. In my case, once the application had been submitted and the application fees had been paid, the border agents were far more understanding of my wishing to stay in Canada (as a visitor) with my wife while my application was being...

US Citzen working remotely in Canada for 2 weeks.

I worked remotely while visiting Canada on multiple occasions, and I disclosed that fact to a border officer on one occasion. He told me they don't care about that since I wasn't taking the job from a Canadian. Could be an officer's discretion type of thing, wouldn't mention it if you don't...

    Vehicle Export/Import/AES

Not to steal your post, but I have a question of my own in the same regard. When I landed last week I didn't stop at the American side to declare my vehicle was being exported. I hadn't notified them 72 hours in advance so figured I would do that later and declare my vehicle on my goods to...

    Vehicle Export/Import/AES

I just called the border to see about my vehicle being imported -- they had me email a copy of the title to them and I received this in response:

Work remotely from Canada for US Employer

So glad I stumbled upon this. I've just received my COPR and will be landing any day now. I'm currently a resident of Maryland and have been working remotely for a company in Wash DC. Luckily for me my American employer is committed to making this work, but what exactly will we need to do...

    CPP-Ottawa

Thanks! Also received a reply to my CSQ submission stating that it looks in order and that I should be contacted in the coming weeks for the next steps in the application process. "In the coming weeks" -- hopefully that's not code for sometime in the distant future ;]

    Regarding submission of CSQ

Keep your copy and give your spouse the 2 other copies. The immigration center should have an electronic copy already, but if they don't they'll email you and ask for a scanned copy to be sent to them. I replied to their email with mine and asked for confirmation of receipt, which they did...

    Regarding submission of CSQ

Despite them stating that they would send my CSQ to the case processing center I received an email from CPC today asking for a copy of it... go figure

Canadian Engaged to American-Settling in Canada worried about Immigration Rules

I would apply outland (you can do this while he's in Canada and use your Canadian address on the forms, no need to be outside the country). He can come and go while the application is being processed and it will take half as long in total. Once you receive your marriage certificate and apply...

    CPP-Ottawa

Woot! Just received an email from CPC-Ottawa stating that my application had been forwarded to CPC-Ottawa for further review and they requested a scan of my CSQ. Happy to hear that someone has actually opened our package! Hopefully it'll stay on top of someones desk rather than get thrown...

    Stressing over "dual intent" (help!)

Just tell them that you're in the process of obtaining your permanent residence and would like to stay with your wife while it's being processed. They'll most definitely send you to see an immigration officer who will give you a visitor record. I was in the same boat as you were -- crossing...

Spouse waiting PR Stage 1 in Canada but losing implied status

If you applied inland you should have implied status throughout the process, as far as I'm aware.

    Sponsoring your spouse in quebec.

Leave that space blank and submit everything at once. Once your approved to be a sponsor by CIC they'll send you an email and/or letter asking that you continue your application with MICC by submitting a request for CSQ. Took us about 3 weeks to hear back from CIC and then 21 days total for...

What to do after receiving the Certificate of Selection Quebec?

On my Certificate of Selection they said they had alerted CIC that we had been approved. From my understanding, once CIC knows that they can continue to work on your application. It's been two months now since we received our CSQ and no updates have been made on Client Application Status page...

While waiting for PR: Work for a USA based company?

I can confirm that they have no problems with that. I'm working remotely for an American company while living in Canada awaiting my PR and I was asked about my employment the last time I crossed the border. Told them I work remotely from home for an American company and they said that's fine...

    POSITIVE IMMIGRATION STORY

Hi Hnhkrk, nice to hear your story. I too am an American living in Quebec. How's it going with the French? I've been using duolingo.com which has helped A LOT. Forcing friends and relatives up here to speak to me in French has really helped as well.

    Quebec Spousal Sponsorship HELP........

It's the same as any other province except after they review the sponsorship section of your application and approve you as a sponsor they will send you a letter stating that you should now submit an...

How long does Quebec take for outland applications?

I'm afraid Rob is right. You would need to be married or live together for 12 consecutive months in order to apply. In our case, we had a small civil marriage at a courthouse in Quebec, and are following it up with a larger wedding celebration next year with the friends and extended family.

What should I do while waiting for PR?

Truth. I work for an american company and am living in quebec while my PR app is being processed. I was asked at the border if i was employed and told them yes by an american company, they had no issues with that whatsoever.
