I do not know, how will you manage your travel document? All I can suggest you to travel to Canada as soon as you can. To find a job or looking for an opportunities are baseless. You just need to travel to Canada to get your PR card and it would be a wise decision for this situation.

I think the best option is to write a letter to CIC given address and request to extend your visit in person. You can mention that you had a serious family situation and you had to leave Canada.
