Don't worry about it. They should know. But to be safe, write a letter explaining what has happened and attach it as additional client information on your CEC application.

Hi It was more of an accusing one rather than inquiring. I did not know that I violated the immigration rule in Canada when I stayed there for more than 1 month. But anyway, I just told them the truth so I guess that worked.

My interview did not go like the ones layouted here. It was not easy but was generally fine.
