So...I received the letter today from CIC...I'm actually fully approved under Family, not AIP. they did the whole thing from Vegreville. Next stop is my card. No interview. Some things I did with my application which could have contributed: 1. Sent in EVERYTHING at once. FBI, RCMP, Doctor...

"A decision has been made and you will be contacted. We sent you a letter on May 28, 2010 to xx about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us. If we have sent the letter to the wrong address..." W00t. 7 months and one day from when they...

Yay. They should be looking at my file in the next day or so : "Oct 27th received". Got my finger on the button for online OWP filing. Anyone know how long it takes them to update the site? Looks like 24 hours.

That is really good advice. If you are here, and you can't work, you can do something to line up your future. Figure out the best places in your market for what you want to do and do an intern type role. Since you aren't getting paid, you can probably negotiate better kinds of work, and...

You should be able to get your info once they begin processing...if you don't have a client ID, you can try calling the toll free number My app was received October 27th and I was able to see it online as of Jan 12 or so, about a week after they began processing.

The lag is 1-3 months - I think - so you should be close if it hasn't happened already. That process could take a little time though.

No, I just don't know what Im doing. Gotta update that. Sent on the 20th, received on the 27th, began processing Jan 6. I included every possible document they might ask for including meds and background and photos and testimonials so I'm hopeful they would go right to decision made, but so...

That seems like a long time to have no action taken on the file. Mine was received the same day as yours and began processing January. I don't know much about the process but maybe a call would be prudent to make sure your file didn't fall behind the file cabinet. Anyone else agree?

Does anyone understand how the Processing times work ? Im reading two columns. "Processing Applications Received Up To". Seems to make sense. If your app was received up to this date, they are looking at it. "Current Processing Time". Do you add this to the date above and assuming your...

Actually, you can also get a work permit through a company, start working, then apply. Your permit is tied to the company, but you can stay here legally and work until you get AIP, then apply for the OWP. Or Send the OWP app on with the PR application. I am doing this, thats how I know it's...
