Question re: full time and part time work experience on PGWP.

Thank you! So my work would need to give a week by week accounting of every week from the time I started the position? That's going to make me popular with the payroll manager :o ;D

Question re: full time and part time work experience on PGWP.

I have had a permanent position within the same organisation since July 2014. At first I was part time (19hrs/week) with the ability to take on extra shifts. Some weeks I have worked 30+hrs. From April - September 2015 I took on a temporary full time position (40 hrs/week). I will go back to the...

Would I qualify as a charitable worker?

Oh hang on, I think this was just added "persons who are giving their time to community or religious organizations in a position which would not represent a real employment opportunity for Canadians or permanent residents. (Such work would entail a requirement to be part of, or share the...

Would I qualify as a charitable worker?

I am full time. It states work of a charitable OR religious nature This part indicated I could be paid a wage. "A charitable worker is usually taking a full-time position in an activity that meets the definition of ”work” in that it is a competitive activity or wages are paid"

Would I qualify as a charitable worker?

Hi! Decided to ask this here as it has been impossible to get through to CIC recently.. I am here on a PGWP. Depending on how things work out I may try to apply for another work permit as a charitable worker. I am currently a resident support worker working overnights at a homeless shelter. In...

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

I'm new on this sub topic (only been on CEC before) fairly new to using this forum and it's in tiny, tiny writing. Cut me some slack.

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

Hey folks. Anyone know where one can find stats/info on the average time it takes for outland applicants who are British citizens to receive a decision? Trying to make a choice between the two options.

Applying for LMIA for your own job......

This clearly states that existing employers can apply for an LMIA. http://www.vancouversun.com/business/Opinion+immigration+rules+threaten+Canada+competitiveness/10858777/story.html#ixzz3TOQj4de5.

    LMIA and 4-year cap

I think this is my first option. It's hard enough to find an employer in social services who's willing to spend $1000 on an LMIA. Finding a NOC A job as a social worker that is permanent is not something I'm optimistic about. Better luck for those in the for-profit sector.

    LMIA and 4-year cap

Please could someone offer advice... I came to Canada from the UK in March 2011 on an IEC permit. I decided to study here and began studies in September 2011 on a bachelors of social work. I received a 3 year post grad work permit in Nov 2013 and have been in work in a social service occupation...

What is full time for LMIA?

I'm going to ask my work to do an LMIA for me and I feel hopeful that they will.

What is full time for LMIA?

Oh ok, I was told that I can't apply earlier if I've accumulated the 1560 hours in less than a year. I'm on my way to completing this (currently at 1200 hrs) after working approx 24 hours/week permanent part time (with additional extra shifts that Ive taken on). My PGWP was issued in Nov 2013...

Better to apply under CEC or FSW?

I getcha, I was just surprised and a bit incredulous that I have no choice - government immigration websites seem to imply otherwise. Also, immigration is super stressful and sometimes its hard to get ahold of all the different strands of information. As I'm sure we all know. Cheers!

Better to apply under CEC or FSW?

So its arbitrarily chosen for me? Regarding the hours - what is the minimum amount of hours I need for either?

Better to apply under CEC or FSW?

So it is better to apply for an invitation with CEC and with a LMIA in a 30 hr/week full time job?

Better to apply under CEC or FSW?

I'm not outside Canada, I have been working here on a 3-year post graduate work permit since June 2014. My job will become full time (either 32 hours or 40 hours, I have a choice) and permanent soon, so my question was related to which amount of hours would be better to apply for PR (either CEC...

Better to apply under CEC or FSW?

What is full time for LMIA?

Ok thanks. I think I will apply under CEC. An immigration lawyer told me that to apply under this category it is essential to have an LMIA and be in a full time job while the application is processed. I wi have completed my 1560 hours for CEC in a few months. The LMIA site says it has to be...
