Hi, Well my employer refused to apply for LMO. If I receive MR before my Work Permit expires, can I still work under implied status or I still need new Work Permit?

Hi All I applied for PR in May end and got AOR July. I haven't received MR yet. My work permit will Expire in Feb 2013. I confirmed with my employer and they refused for LMO. Do I have to leave Canada once my work permit is Expired? Is there any option to extend work permit? Please help.....
