I got my passport back after 10 weeks. The visa is issued on May 7 (last week). It is valid until Sept. 2013 which I think is the expiry date of my medical. I did my medical on Sept. 2011, assuming they extended it once for a year, it should expire on Sept. 2013. Anyway, my timeline is this...

Apparently most of people are getting their passports within a reasonable time. It's probably a few people that is taking longer than usual and I mean loooongeeeer :)

Mine is in 10th week. You don't need to have a valid visa as long as you have a valid status in Canada. You have a valid work permit which makes you a legal resident and that's enough (some may say more than enough :D)
