When I went to get my OHIP the officer put down 3 months from the date of issue on my COPR! Some vary I'm sure as they all seem to do whatever they feel like!

So.. I just spent the last hour catching up on everything I missed!! Congrats to everyone who has gotten DM, COPR and landed :D To those still waiting, hang in there! ScottishMaple, I really hope your situation gets sorted soon, so frustrating!! I've been so so busy with getting back to work...

That's it! It's the inconsistency of these people.. Surely they have to have procedures that are very clear! When we first arrived on our work visas, my husband had only been working a few weeks and they started his OHIP straight away and when I went to get mine I had to wait the 3 months...

Congrats on landing and welcome to Canada!! That is strange alright, I landed at Ottawa airport and was alone and nothing was even mentioned. It's funny how people have such different experiences with different IO's and are told different things!

Well I landed March 14th, applied the next day March 15tg and I won't be eligible until May 25th? So I'm not sure how that works? I brought my COPR, passport and I have an Ontario driving license so I used that as a proof of address. If you don't have one you need a bank statement or something...

I just applied for my health card in Ontario (and I'd had one previously on my work permit) and te same thing - I have to wait 2 months or so until it kicks in!

Congratulations to all who have received DM or COPRs in the past week or so!!!! I returned to work on Monday, it's great getting back into the swing of things! Good luck to all still waiting! DGT, I'm in Ottawa so not too far.. East coast rules :P
