It's okay. No need to be nervous. I am on the same boat. Decision made since June 30,2014. I had to cancel one booking already because of their delay. I believe they will just send a bunch of passports back together to VFS Dhaka. So, don't worry. Lot of us will get passports back on the same day.

Once your spouse lands here with a Immigrant Visa, her status changes in Canada. And if you try to re-enter Canada back with a tourist visa, her status will be flagged back to "Visitor" from "immigrant". So, it would not safe practice.

They must have created a second file for you by mistake, then deleted one of your files and put all notes about you under one applicant number/UCI. I only hope they did not lose anything during that merging. It will only extend the waiting period, even if it is an error on their end.
