My husband applied for Alberta Healthcare two days after he landed with just his COPR, passport and our utility bills. :) Coverage started the day he landed.

My husband landed on August 7 and he applied for Alberta Healthcare on the following Monday. His card came a few days later. With proof of residency, he is eligible from day one.

Yep, I still "stalk" the forum too. Sorry to hear about your PR card. I guess I shouldn't be expecting my husband's PR card anytime soon since he landed on August 7th. ::) Although, his AB driver's license, AB healthcare card and his SIN card came a week after he applied... so that was good...

It is wonderful. Preservation of our language and culture is extremely important to my family. We identify ourselves with our own Native community first but we are also proud Canadians too. ;D

I was born here and my first language is my own Native language, as it was for my parents and their parents and so on. However, we're not immigrants. ;)

7 weeks after they started processing in Buffalo, my husband received his passport request. :)

My husband changed his address to mine (via email) after he received the AOR from Buffalo. His address on ECAS was updated a week later.

My husband waited until Buffalo started processing his file, too.

LOL Yes, we didn't email Buffalo about anything other than the address change.

Thank you! :) We had the applicant's info on there and asked them if they received the medical results from the DMP. They replied and said they have already forwarded the results to Buffalo. I believe we sent the fax 2 weeks after they started processing in Buffalo.
