Visitor visa valid for 6 months stay - at one time or in a year?

I know there is opportunity to extend beyond 6 months, but it is a hit-or-miss & usually not recommended because it affects ones future chances to come back as a visitor.

Visitor visa valid for 6 months stay - at one time or in a year?

I need to bring my parents to stay with us for 8 months while my wife goes through delivery. I don't have a PR yet, so I cannot apply for a super-visa. My parents are applying for a visitor visa with proper documentation. Assuming they get their visitor visa approved, can they stay from Jan -...

    Client Reference Letter

I agree with honeysingh. You have to provide as much information as possible without confusing the VO. Many people in the forum won't understand how in the IT services industry you can report to a manager in India while you are working in Canada. It would sound outrageous for them & there is a...

About Employment Location on Open Work Permit (Restriction?)

I'd suggest you call CIC Helpline & ask them, for 2 reasons 1. For PGWP, you location should be unknown.. meaning you can work anywhere (but, it depends on what you mentioned in your application for PGWP). Ask them why your WP restricts you to Vancouver 2. Ask for the process to make amends to...

how a new landed immigrant can get a 10 yrs US visa?

Most people apply for a new B1 / B2 visa before their current B1 / B2 visa expires. Usually, if you already have one, the officer in the consulate will ask if you currently hold a visa (valid or expired), verify if it is the same one, cancel it & then issue the new visa. If you have a visa of...

Incorrect address on my ADP payslips

I'm not sure it matters but I dont think you will be rejected based on that... If at all it matters you will be asked about it and it is something you can explain when asked. I have my office mailbox address in all my payslips (2+ years) though it was meant as temporary setup... But since the...

do I have to report spouse employmeny to cic?

Kevin is right. There is no requirement to notify CIC about job changes of anyone other than the primary applicant. So... No, you don't have to report your wife's employment to CIC.

Join who are intra-company transfers in Canada and applying under CEC

I agree. In an ideal world, I'd expect the border officer to go through the documentation & assign the right 'title' matching my duties. In my case (& many of my colleagues), we had been given random occupations in our work permits which were later corrected only in the 'Remarks' section...

I'm in the same situation as you. The offer letter from my company's Canada operations mentioned a specific position (say ABC), the letter from my company to the regional Canadian Consulate mentioned the same position, but then when I landed in Canada 2 years back something interesting happened...

    regarding call to employer question

So far I haven't read or heard about CIC calling anyone. To my limited knowledge, approval or rejection is purely based on the information you provide. But then, seniors will be able to tell you better.

Omshri, What do you actually do? Your job responsibility is associated with which NOC?

    clb conversion

You will be in CLB 6 just because your reading score is 5.5. If you had gotten 6 in reading, you would've been in CLB 7. You haven't mentioned the NOC you are applying for.

Photo Specifications - date at the back

Has anyone tried Kodak Express which is available in all major towns and cities in India? http://www.kodakexpress.com/india/createit/photoid_passport_pictures.php I'm sure they will take photos to the specifications you need & I'm guessing they will also be able to put the date stamp. (I...

Photo Specifications - date at the back

I agree with iam_toby. I know people who've taken their photo in CostCo who only put a date stamp & it has been accepted. Just date stamp is enough on the back of the photos + you write your name & date of birth.

How do I inform CIC of new credit Card info?

CC payment is usually taken on the 6th week since your application was received. If it is less than 5 weeks since you applied, you can try calling them & explaining. Otherwise, better to wait for it to be returned & send it again. This is a minor setback. Don't be too worried & lose sleep over...

    Self-addressed labels?

I got the labels from Dollarama & printed my address on them using my inkjet printer. This one is no big deal - don't sweat about it wondering if you should send it or not. They just want to stick the label on any return mail communication instead of having to write your address. I have the...

    Need Urgent Help !!!

@ cecnov2012 I'd too have heard about CIC asking for additional letters from the client. Lesson to CEC applicants is - Avoid the word 'client' in your reference letter if you have a say in drafting the letter for your supervisor to sign. When we work on a client project we have a direct...

    Need Urgent Help !!!

Hi Shiva, I have friends who work for IBM in Canada as temporary employees & I'm aware of the situation. You're not alone as this problem is not isolated to IBM alone. Urgent Information Regarding Refrence letter ...

I agree with thisisauser on the above. You apply with whatever you can get & hope for the best. But then, you can always try to get more :-) Not all employer's have a letterhead. You haven't mentioned what is on the stamp? If the stamp is good enough, it MAY be accepted. Can you also get the...
