I had the nearly the same issue. There is no fixed time for completion of background checks. Normally it all goes well. All you can do is to wait and keep reminding them but after a reasonable interval. Hope for the best!

Thank you for your response. I was wondering that not all passports of myself and family have signature/thumb impressions. I have sent the copies to London after PPR1. I hope it won't be an issue. I am still waiting for PPR2.

Is it essential that all passports have thumb impression/signatures. In my case Passport office never emphasised this and issued us machine readable passports without signatures/thumb impression on some passports.
