I never even thought about this until I happened upon an earlier post asking about it. My wife and I have started shipping boxes back to Canada addressed to my name at my parents address. They are only books, clothes and a few souvenirs. Do we really need to fill out that list of goods...

as far as i know, as long as he wasnt on social assistance/welfare he should be okay...i sponsored my wife with no problems while i was on e.i. im not an authority though, so maybe call in and double check... good luck

My wife just got her passport back with a shiny canadian permanent resident visa in it!!!! all in all, a few days shy of 5 months from the day I mailed in the initial package to Mississauga. So not too bad...Glad to be done with all the hassle and stress of waiting for it to process. Good...

got some good news in the form of a PPR today...exactly 4 years to the day that we first met...kind of a sweet gift from the embassy we thought.... just shy of 3 months from the date they started processing it in korea... good luck to those still waiting...

what is a korean expat passport? is that different than a regular korean passport? they cant just send in their regular passport? good luck on the packing and organising...i have been outta korea for the last almost 2 years, and just came back for the winter, so thankfully i have nothing to...

gteacher- I sent our application to canada on the 24th of november, started processing on the 29 of december in seoul...i checked out your previous posts, and it appears that we both got canadian approval on dec.17...yours started processing on dec.22 where as mine started on the 27th...guess...

i think the photo specifications differ according to geographic supplementary package...for korea, we needed name,date of birth, and date photo taken on back of one and only one.....

also noteworthy, logged on to ecas today, which is saturday in Canada, and my information was there to view, so it can obviously be updated on any day of the week..

@toby Thanks for checking that...that is reassuring...i started to email the embassy's case specific address the other day, but then decided to wait a day or two for the file to make it to seoul so they had something to refer to....going to email them now tho, so hopefully they will get it at...

@KL8N Section B -Note 2 ---we did write not applicable in the box for section b, just didnt sign im assuming it is a minor omission, and that is why they chose to send it along as approved anyways....hopefully will only result in a delay of a few days, or none if i send a signed copy to the...

and yet another update-- so i called the centre again and explained the situation....he said that once mississauga approves sponsor and sends it on to the outland office it is in their (overseas office) hands, and that they would send the incomplete 5406 to her in Seoul...he said he had...

DAMN...now im a bit worried...was just cruisin the posts and saw one where "toby" mentions that his package got to hongkong and sent back because he missed the signature half way down on 5406E....i was like, what the #$@#, i dont remember that...checked the copy of our files, and wouldnt u know...

For a spousal sponsorship with no dependants, or other accompanying family, there is no financial requirements of the sponsor though I thought? (unless I was on social assistance or something?) I am currently on E.I. but have a good job I will be returning to eventually when business picks up...
