My friend got a file number from buffalo (when he asked them). You understood correctly, No PER from CIO and No response to his inquiry so far (Maybe it takes time).

My friend is like us (PhD stream) and he sent his documents in November. Two weeks ago he sent an email to buffalo and they gave him a file number and also they answered him back: this is related to CIO that you didn't receive PER, you can ask them. So far he hasn't received any response from CIO.

It is in "generic application form for Canada" (IMM 0008). After Item #14 you can see the "Contact information" section, in this section, item #6 is email address.

It doesn't show me anything yet. Perhaps after couple of days, I'll be able to see something.

I have a question guys. According to the discussion between snow_walker and other guys (in page 6), the ecas status is “In Process”. Based on the link that snow_walker posted, the “In process” status happens after PER. Does it mean those applications have passed the PER step?

Hi guys Congrats phdapplicant. CIC: Applications received toward the overall cap: 110 of 1,000. It is much faster now. My application has been received on 9th January by CIO. Waiting for credit card cashing.
