Hey,
My husband submitted a request for a pr card renewal on March 1st. However when we try and see case status, we get a notice saying that case status inquiries are only for those with ongoing applications... Basically it's saying we don't have any applications submitted? He submitted his PR...
Its all just about what you have and feel you need. Our app was around 300 pages with all the extra question pages and how we formatted it. If we formatted tighter it would have been less.
I'm just going to post in here again to move this back to the top. I love this page!!!
The tips on here were a life saver. We changed ours a bit to fit our application but man, I'd have died without this!
We moved back to Canada with our two dogs when my hubby was 'visiting'
We were totally honest. Said he was just staying for 6 months to help me get settled and make sure I was going to be okay before returning to the states until approval. We did have to spend a lot of time in the border office...
I can't say for sure for that office but since you got DM you can actually call that office and ask them just to make sure your address is the same and such.
We bought our 3 months online.
I just searched "travelers insurance" for Canada and a million pop up. Last time my hubby went into the local credit union/bank here called Envision and bought it there. But this time we just went online. less stressful lol
My app was perfect too. And my husband was previously a police officer so his background check was squeaky clean. We sent everything in upfront and it still took 10 months. It has nothing to do with how organized you are, i've seen people apply with crap backgrounds, previously illegal US or...
It could just be the agent then.
I was moving back (Canadian citizen born and raised only in the states for school) and my hubby was with my as a visitor. Which I'm sure raised flags all on its own. He had to leave his passport and go into Canada to purchase insurance and get a print out from a...
Absolutley. My husband read on the other forums and from his landing documents that medical insurance was needed (IN British Columbia since we are not eligible for medical here until 3 months is up) That does NOT mean they will enforce it. We were more along the lines of wanting to be over...
I would start calling as much as possible. If you are past your estimated time then they actually tell you to contact them.
I'd try all avenues available to you. Request your case notes, email, call, fax, contact your local MP, whatever you can do.
We crossed into BC Via Sumas border crossing at 1am on Thursday the 14th :P
Hubby and I recently made a post about the B4 Form and what he went through to be beyond prepared to help the agent. Feel free to take a look! Hopefully it will help you out also. We've found that being totally honest...
Just for clarification, on your initial move to Canada, anything you bring with you, is considered your "goods accompanying" anytime after your first landing, anything you bring on re entry will be "goods to follow". So the documentation for goods to follow will not be your tablet for this...
From experience of being an extended visitor they wanted me to be covered. Having purchased the insurance for my extended visit prior to becoming a PR, when I talked to the border agent they said it would be recommended. It's all on you really, if they do want you to have it, they will allow...
Ya, I quoted another post that responded, it's more of what you would sell the items for at a garage sell type of thing. For clothes, I simply put Clothes/50+/500$ - I didn't catalog every item to that extent. It's more the high value items they care about, even then its dependent on the agent...
For sentimental value, I simply put 0$ as there is no replacement value to the item.
For your books, cd's and dvd's I had originally called the border and talked to a lead supervisor and I asked the same thing (how do I go about putting value on all my goods). She stated that it's simply what...
*IE:
B4 Goods line #1 - Kitchen supplies/ Bathroom supplies
Name/Quantity/Value/Serial Number
Can opener/1/10$
Coffee mugs/5/30$
Blistex/1/2$
Total Value = 42.00$
This the exact format that I used for my word document, where each page started out as B4 Goods line #1-8 - "title/topic" -...
Steps for processing goods into Canada upon PR acceptance.
Once accepted as a PR, I was faced with the countless pages of spam to make sure that I was fully prepared for my trek across the border into Canada. It can be stressful at times, but with the right guidance from those that have been...
Yeahhh that is a load of poop!
It is a different agency that does your notes then who work on your application. All they do is pull up your app on their programs and forward it.
Well we are done!
Hubby landed on May 14th at 1am!
It was so easy and he was so completely over prepared that they never even looked in our uhaul trailer!!
I will be having him post a long explanation of what he did/needed to do and how it went for him shortly as a new topic.
Best of luck...
