Help with travel dates and advice, please!

Hello! Husband and I are going through the travel calculator to produce a document to be included in our application. What we didn't realize (dumb on our parts) is that quick daytrips across the border also count. We live near the border and would occasionally cross to do some shopping or...

    MAY 2014 OUTLAND Applicants

HOLY SMOKES! One day after our status when from "In Process" we are now at "Decision Made"! So exciting. So now we just have to wait for the letter to arrive by mail? Does anyone know if we can call in to confirm or email? Thank you!

IMM 5409? Doc request that confuses me...

Thank you, iNick, for the update. We're sending ours in today, but I'm having trouble figuring out the 5409E form, so if you could shed some light or who the delcarant is (compared to which one of us is the declarant's partner), I'd appreciate it! Thanks!

Please help with filling out Form IMM 5409E!

Hi all, My common-law spouse and I are filling out form IMM 5409E at the request of CIC and despite reading the instruction guide, I'm having a bit of confusion with regards to filling it out. If anyone could offer helpful advice, I'd greatly appreciate it! Here are my questions: 1) Which...

IMM 5409? Doc request that confuses me...

Hi all, Thank you for your kind replies. We did send the IMM 5409 with our original application package with N/A written on it as we don't have a co-signer, but I suppose we'll have to get it properly filled out although I can't, for the life of me, figure out why. I was under the impression...

IMM 5409? Doc request that confuses me...

Hi all! My common-law partner and I sent his outland PR application back in May, but the CIC royally screwed up and returned it to is in July as "incomplete due to the omission of several forms" even though it wasn't (whatever brainstrust had opened our application wasn't able to distinguish...

    MAY 2014 OUTLAND Applicants

After asking that question yesterday we just received an update from CIC. My common-law partner, the applicant, received an email asking for additional documentation. I'm so furious I could cry. The following have been requested: 1. A signed copy of IMM 5409 (which we were told initially...

    MAY 2014 OUTLAND Applicants

Hi all! In less than a week we'll be approaching two months from the date we received 1st stage AOR (September 8th). ECAS still lists our status as "Application received". Once we hit the two month mark, do you think it would be worthwhile to reach out to CIC and see if there has been any...

    MAY 2014 OUTLAND Applicants

I see the usefulness of the colour coding. It's not pretty to look at, but it lets you figure out where you are in the timeline compared to the other applicants. Function over form.

    MAY 2014 OUTLAND Applicants

Someone has updated the spreadsheet in a weird way. Instead of being sorted chronologically, it is currently sorted by VO and then by date. I actually prefer this myself, but I'm not sure who might have changed it. However, one of the bigger problems is that some of the colour codes on the...

    MAY 2014 OUTLAND Applicants

I have one more question that I overlooked, sorry! When CIC sends you a passport request (or, otherwise, stage 2 AOR), do they send it by email? And will that go to the applicant or the sponsor? Thank you!

    MAY 2014 OUTLAND Applicants

Thanks, fumbler! That's a relief. I just assumed there would be a Stage 2 AOR notification of some kind, although it does seem like CIC has been a bit spotty about their correspondence in some cases. I suppose I should just keep waiting.

    MAY 2014 OUTLAND Applicants

Hello all! Two updates: First, when our application was initially returned to us in error, we sent it back immediately along with a cover letter which indicated we would be CC'ing the Minister of CIC on the correspondence. I did so by email and received an immediate auto-reply saying...

    MAY 2014 OUTLAND Applicants

YESSS! Just got my SA email from CIC today! What a crazy ordeal (CIC made an error with our application and sent it back to us, so we had to then send it back on August 7th with acknowledgement of their mistake)... So glad to be moving forward, though!

    MAY 2014 OUTLAND Applicants

Hi all! We received our returned application package from CIC with the cover letter stating that form IMM 5285 is missing from our application and, thus, it is incomplete. We have spoken with the CIC call center and one of the agents has confirmed that this form is NOT necessary for an Outland...

    MAY 2014 OUTLAND Applicants

As it turns out IMM 5285 is only for INLAND applications. We didn't include it because we're applying Outland! Apparently it is a mistake on CIC's part that has happened to a few other people as well (there's another thread concerning this specifically). However, it looks like, despite the...

CIC RETURNED SPOUSE APPLICATION - URGENT HELP NEEDED GUYS!

Hello! We called CIC today to check on our application and were told the same thing! We applied Outland as well and were told we were missing form IMM 5285. It wasn't until after we got off the phone that we realized that this was their mistake, not ours. We tried calling back but the office...

    MAY 2014 OUTLAND Applicants

Just got through to CIC and received heartbreaking news. Our application is being mailed back to us because IMM 5285 is incomplete. I don't know how that's possible when we checked and triple-checked everything. I'm so frustrated, I could cry. We're going to have to start the whole process...
