The Client-ID is on the Visa Extension, but that takes about 3months to be processed. You can use it to check the status of the application.

Oh wow.. did they give you a reason as to why it will take so long? My husband just got his Visa extension back and they extended it for 10months instead of the normal six which has us both wondering if maybe CIC knows our application will need the extra time too... How long did it take...

I don't mean to bump the thread, but I asked a friend in the same process and they were only given the 6months.

So, I was under the impression that you would get an extra 6months on your TRV when you extended it. We just got my husband's back, with an added 10months. Is this normal or is CIC letting us know things are going to take a bit longer than we had hoped?

Look again, the website is 6-7months now.

Okay.. now I'm confused... Do they then treat it as you being "illegally" in Canada? The category changes from what to what exactly? I thought as long as it was in before your status expired all was good and happy.

Hi How do you check your status? You need an ID number and from what I can gather, you only get that once they send you your first stage approval, which is about 6months from the time they recieved the application? Ours arrived in Vegreville July 23rd. And congrats to you :)

You never get to see the results from the medicals. It will go directly from the doctor to the Visa Office without you ever seeing it to avoid tampering etc etc. You do however, have to send proof that the medical was done. A simple till slip or invoice showing that you did indeed go to the...
