Great news for CEC Applicants - OPEN Work Permits now available

This is awesome news. I especially love this line "Furthermore, efficiencies are gained by avoiding unnecessary requests to Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC) for subsequent labour market opinions (LMOs)." Like, duh. I don't know why the hell they didn't think about this...

U- Turn availability at Peace Bridge

I only know what I know based on my personal experience. I think the landing process should be mostly the same for people who make the U-turn and for those who return from the US. However, if you do go the US, I'd imagine that you'd be getting questions around what you did in the US, whether...

U- Turn availability at Peace Bridge

I took the U-turn on December 16 to do my landing at Peace Bridge, so I can tell you that it's definitely open. Here are some directions to do the U-turn: - After passing the last Canadian highway exit, there will be a sign that says TO BUFFALO. The road speed will have signs to reduce speed...

    April 2012 PR applications

Yes, it was all done via email. I replied to the email through which the VO sent the document request but modified the subject line, and the VO replied to mine. The email I used for correspondence was OttPilot-Immigration@cic.gc.ca.

CEC application submitted/LMO has been denied

My second LMO application was also approved after the first was denied, even though it was for the same job and company. I couldn't flagpole to the border because I'm not from a visa exempt country, so unfortunately my employer had to let me go after knowing it will take up to 70 days to get my...

    April 2012 PR applications

I'm not sure if you've resolved this issue, but you can always reply to the email that you received re: medical request with any follow up question or request. I emailed the VO to ask for an extension deadline to submit my PCC from Canada and the VO responded in 2 business days.

CEC application submitted/LMO has been denied

I know it's hard to do, but stay positive! In the meantime, I'd also start planning on perhaps taking an unpaid leave of absence from work if your employer is supportive of that.

    April 2012 PR applications

I did it after I received the medical request. I had a PR application rejected once so I didn't want to take the risk of doing it in advance.

Good Medical practioner in Toronto for Medicals

I just did my medical examination on Friday, Oct 5 with Dr. Mascarenhas. He was highly recommended by a friend. It was a really pleasant experience and all the staff was friendly. The tests (urine, blood, x-ray) took approximately 1 hr and they were all done in the same building. His practice is...

CEC application submitted/LMO has been denied

That's correct. You can actually check their application timelines here: www[dot]cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp[dot]asp It's not up to the minute, but it tells you exactly the receipt date of the applications they are currently working on. This allows you to make an educated guess on...

Same here, maybe even slightly worse -- WP submitted on July 23 and LMO submitted on Sept 27. Did reaching out to Olivia Chow help you at all?
