    Inland Application 2011

We finally received a letter from CIC last night after 11 months of waiting, telling us to apply for CSQ! At least it's progress :-\

    Inland Application 2011

The OWP app was sent a little bit after PR, so they should be attached yes. But I guess I'm wondering if the approval letter from CIC comes after CSQ or if it's possible we could get OWP right away.

    Inland Application 2011

Ok, so they updated the processing date to September 20th and our application was received... september 20th! So that means they're processing us right? ;) Since we moved to quebec after applying and haven't done CSQ yet, I guess we shouldn't expect the OWP right away? Anyone have a similar case?

Oh, I was looking here : http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/immigrate-settle/students/stay-quebec/application-csq/students-quebec/fees-payment-time.html But I guess that's for foreign students. I can't find any mention of $475...

Thanks guys, I was just wondering if maybe it wouldn't apply to spousal sponsorships (makes sense). I'd just heard about the test from a few people recently so assumed it would apply. I guess since you haven't mentioned it, the price increase does apply ;) Supposedly came into effect April 1st.

Great to hear from september applicants getting AIP! Congrats everyone, specially raabhim, since according to the spreadsheet that puts us up next! Unfortunately we've moved to Quebec since applying, which I guess means that we're going to be directed to apply for CSQ before AIP. And...

    Inland Application 2011

Hey guys, We're still waiting to hear anything from CIC regarding my spouse's inland application (received 20 september 2011) since getting an email with our eCas login info on January 3rd 2012. Seems to be quite a bit longer than most. Ecas now says our application is In Process. We've...

To be clear, I'm assuming you still need the OWP to work legally until you have PR. Otherwise no one would need to aply for OWP.

I have no experience with this (yet!), but I'm sure you will have just as easy (or hard) a time as anyone else with the same skills. Usually all they care about is if you are allowed to work in Canada.

Yeah, speaking another language can be intimidating, but it's the only way to get better! :D Stick with it! It can't hurt to be immersed. If processing for sponsorship and applicant is the same, then ECAS says January 3rd.

Thanks Missha, I agree. Frankly, it never occured to me before today that moving to Quebec could cause any issues. She's applying to be a PR in Canada, with Immigration Canada, being sponsored by a Canadian. We just happen to want to live somewhere else (in Canada) while it's being processed...

That Great!! Congrats! I have a feeling we will see the wait time decrease soon, once the backlog is taken care of!

    Inland Application 2011

We both speak fluent french and neither of us is studying anymore. I don't see any reason we would need a CSQ. Although I agree that it is preferable to tell them everything, sometimes we overthink things because the process is kind of obscure. I will let everyone know what CIC says about...

    Inland Application 2011

Maybe I can wait until CIC accepts me as a sponsor before notifying them that we moved ;) Thanks for adding your experience to the discussion! We really want to leave Winnipeg, preferably before she gets AIP...

    Inland Application 2011

That's what I'm thinking too. As a canadian I assume I'm allowed to go live in Quebec whenever I want, and she doesn't have the right to work/study until AIP anyway, so she's almost like a tourist there. I think CSQ is irrelevant anyway. From...

    Inland Application 2011

Delay in PR card is fine, so long as she as OWP. So you think we should not notify them until they approve her and schedule landing interview in Manitoba, and then request landing in Montreal? How much notice is given before the landing interview? we may be able to come back for it (and to...

    Inland Application 2011

We are planning on staying in Montreal for the foreseeable future. I'm just wondering because I thought there was a whole different form to fill out for immigrating to quebec, and I guess if we notify CIC it will lead to a big delay (basically restart). We're in manitoba, but we could get the...

    Inland Application 2011

They should really allow applicants to work much earlier while they wait, I think. It's almost like they purposefully put applicants through a hard time to make sure the relationship is strong and the sponsor has the money to support the applicant for a year.

    Inland Application 2011

hey missha, My ecas says that they received our application on September 20th, 2011 and then that they started processing our application on January 3rd 2012. I'm the sponsor and my fiance's ecas does not state that they've started processing yet, so I'm not sure if that's just the...
