So... We did our online ceremony on the 25th but my tracker is still showing in progress... How long am I waiting for this?

We had the ceremony this morning. We emailed the Calgary office immediately after with our signed oath. Not recieved a response. The clerk said to wait ~5 days to be sent the certificate.

We just sent out signed letter but nothing received back. Going to check on the tracker in a couple of days and see. We have proof we sent it, so that's enough! :)

I believe dressing smartly and with respect to being in a court is sufficient, so no jeans etc. If you have a suit, wear it. You are becoming a citizen - there aren't too many occasions to wear formal wear these days, but in person citizenship ceremony is one.

Honestly though if it's less stress just email them asap and ask to reschedule :)

Yes, I got ecert instructions a day after oath letter.

You really can get a passport in 5 days with minimal stress, especially as you have time right now to arrange it so you just walk in and get it.

Email them now and ask about it. They may deny the request to reschedule if you get a grumpy clerk, just bare that in mind.

They make them on weekends, just google "same day passports" and get the info as you have lots of time to prep so you can just walk into the offices (booking an appt) and either walk out with a passport or go and collect the next day. If they don't get it done you can leave Canada and someone...

Tight would be 72 hours, so I think you have plenty of time personally. You can email them back to reschedule, but I'd get this over with asap. They may reschedule you for months from now, or the week after. My friend (Calgary office) was 7 months.

If your ceremony is March 6 then you have a week to get the passport which can be obtained same day if needed. You'll get your ecert same day if you ask the clerk, then you can go get the passport. No need to reschedule if you're proactive about it.
