An update: Having sat my test on 20 May, I got the invite for my ceremony oath yesterday (13 July) - the ceremony is on 22 July. Honestly, a bit surprised they just give you one week's notice! So, from test to oath was about 3 months for me, which is exactly what they said it would be. Nice...

So I sat my test this morning, and it was better than I expected! I passed, and it was about 45 minutes from when I entered the test room to when I left the building after having had my documents checked (which was way better than the 3-4 hours some people on various boards had been saying to...

Hey guys, Been reading this thread sporadically but now I have something to contribute! I applied for citizenship mid-June 2014, and got my letter for my test last week - test is on 20th May. I think my file got a bit delayed in the early stages, as I contacted CIC and they said my initial...

    Thread for July 2011 applicants

Hi guys! It's so nice to log on here and see so many people that have landed. I've now joined their ranks - got my passport back with my COPR on 28th and drove down to the US border today to land. Good luck to everyone still waiting and thanks for all your support, especially in the early days...

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

Hey Mittens (and any others interested in hearing my landing story), I'm now a Permanent Resident! It feels like such a relief. We live in Winnipeg, so we drove down to the US border at Emerson (a bit over an hour away) and landed there. Fiance took his passport, I took mine along with the...

Hey all - Merry (belated) Christmas! Just got back from a big family Christmas in Toronto and had a delivery notice - my passport and documents arrived while I was gone! Managed to get to the post office just before it closed and picked up the envelope - whoever told me that the COPR is a big...

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

Congrat Mittens, so happy for you to have heard!! So I got an email from London today, after 2 emails I sent in the last few weeks, asking for a tracking number when they sent my passport. The email confirms that they sent my passport on 14 December to the correct address, but they didn't...

Sweet Jen B!! Can you tell me when your passport arrived in London? Mine got there on the 26th Nov I think, so I'm hoping they're sending it back soon! Have started looking for jobs and found 3 that start in the new year, so I want it back so I can land already!

I'm pleased to hear good news about the turnaround time for passports - just got notification from Canada Post that London received my passport this morning. At this point, the big question is whether I'll get it back before Christmas...not that it really matters, we're going to Toronto and I...

Thanks Alasken! That's very useful to know! Did you add a signature to yours though? I was told you can make it 'signed for' for an extra $2 or so, think I'm going to do that. Right, I'm off to post this important envelope!

It's tough to say why it takes a certain time to process - I'd love to be a fly on the wall in the office, to see what's happening in there! Yeah, I'm in Canada already, as a visitor between a working holiday visa and my PR. We live in Winnipeg. Looked at FedEx but my quote came to over $100...

Oh CONGRATULATIONS!! Was really hoping yours would come through soon too. VERY VERY glad to hear this! Hi guys! My post yesterday clearly worked some karmic magic: woke up this morning to find my PPR email waiting in my inbox! ;D ;D ;D I feel so light and happy! Now to just get all the stuff together and get it sent off! Good luck to all of those still waiting - seems like they're moving...

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

My patience is starting to run out! Feels like nothing's happening with London at the moment. Any updates from AndreUK etc? Nothing for me. Still can't log into ecas with my own ID and when we log in with my sponsor's, it just says that the application was received 22nd July 2011 (which was the...

Hi Yasiin, If it makes you feel any better, my ecas hasn't even been updated with 'medical results received', so I'm worse than you! All they put is that the sponsor application was approved and the date when CIC-M got my file, and even that took 2 weeks to show up! I'm not concerned about it...

Alasken, CONGRATULATIONS!! Very pleased for you! Also, can I personally say THANK YOU for this post - I'm having no updates in ecas and was getting paranoid about it. Hearing that you got no AOR either really reassures me. Very glad that I'm not the only one whose ecas is not changing! Good...

Hey Daisies, First off - cry all you like, girly! I'm only three months in and I've already bawled several times - it's a great stress release and sometimes it's important to give yourself a few moments to feel angry and sad about the situation you're in - you can't put a happy face on all the...
