    RO Appeal process

Hmm I see. Had no idea about this as I'm not from a visa waver country.

    RO Appeal process

I assume you have a passport from one of the visa-waiver countries to Canada? In that case, are you not able to board a flight directly from your home country to Canada? Just curious

    RO Appeal process

As far as I remember, cab companies don't check your PR card or any other document. Since they typically charge you a two-way fare, it doesn't matter to them whether you'll be allowed entry into the border or not. If you're refused, they will just drop you back to buffalo but charge full trip...

    RO Appeal process

You can take a cab or uber from buffalo airport to Toronto. I did this during covid. Costs $100-$150 I think.

Increase in 44(1) at the border?

"Tragedy of Commons" Every system designed to give benefit of doubt and leniency to the common people ends up being abused by a loud/vocal/overt/immoral/brash minority of people, which then leads to the system being scrapped for everybody. This is in essence the fight between left and the right...

Increase in 44(1) at the border?

I took a second look, and found some interesting things on canlii. It is flooded with court cases pertaining to appeals about claims of refugees to gain asylum in Canada. When I last saw this website in March 2024, most of the cases pertaining to Cic were related to RO breach by PRs. I...

Increase in 44(1) at the border?

On a side note, I checked canlii.org today and noticed that there have been no reports on the site since August. I wonder why? Is that website still actively maintained? Is there an alternative website that pulls official records like canlii?

Increase in 44(1) at the border?

Thanks, that's very informative. If we narrow down the scope of this question to only PRs who have not met RO and also have an expired PR card, what would you say is the probability of being reported? Will it be 99%? For sake if this discussion, I'm assuming the PR has a PR card that expired...

Increase in 44(1) at the border?

Am I right to assume that the number of 44(1) reports issued at the border have increased after the US election? (also evidenced by the number of reports on this forum). Is this due to changing political scenario in US and Canada? Both swinging to right in recent years? Given this, is the...

Got a follow up call after 44(1) report

What did your lawyer say? As per my understanding, it should be 40 days. HC timeline applies once you have been ordered removal and then appeal for HC. Right now you have not even been issued removal order so you cannot even appeal for HC.

Does Canada have automatic birthright citizenship like the US?

Basically the title. I tried searching for this information online but I am getting conflicting answers. Some say that Canada only offers birthright citizenship to children who are born to Canadian citizen parents only but not to children who are born to illegal immigrants or those who are in...

Can a PR be deemed illegal?

What? I'm asking a question about a hypothetical situation and trying to better understand immigration laws and rules. Why are you assuming that I'm going to cross this border illegally? Turn down your rhetoric dude. You are not adding anything useful to this conversation.
