It is not an error. This is very normal for Indian passport Holders. The people working at Indian embassy should already know all this, and they should help applicants. But, they do the easiest thing possible for a bureaucracy to do: THEY DON'T CARE.

Hello, I agree! I have seen that IRCC has started to work on BG checks. Though, mostly those applicants are in Ontario (GTA region offices). Not many from Vancouver office. But, you getting a ghost update is a good sign. Hopefully, things might speed up this month.

Check with BLS International, they are the ones who deal with MEA/Indian Consulate applications. Indian embassies here in Canada know that it's very common. Even my Indian passport is the same, sirname section is empty. And IRCC writes my whole name in last name section. I had no trouble...

Thanks, Glad to hear from you! Looks like it's normal then. I guess some offices in Ontario has started working on BG checks. I have seen a few applicants for GTA getting their BG completed starting last week. But, I don't see any similar trends for Vancouver or western Canada applicants.

FPs received by IRCC on Jan 15th, no update since. I hope we will get some updates in February. I just want BG and prohibitions to be completed, because that is where many people get stuck in the delay.

My timeline is similar. Sent Nov 6th, AOR Nov 30th, test completed Jan 5th. My FPs were received on Jan 15th. But, BG & LPP still in progress. I see that IRCC has started to work on Nov applications now, so that’s a good sign!

The good thing about this forum is, it gives us hope . It’s a good thing that we are able to compare our timelines and able to stay optimistic. Also, every processing office is different. Some are slow and some are fast. Overall, it’s an unpredictable process.

Many October/November applicants waiting for either Background verification or Prohibitions. I hope so! But you never know. I have seen many people who have been waiting for their BG check for almost an year now. And some just breeze through the process in 3-4 months. Hopefully, we should start to see some updates soon!
