Maybe wait for them to give you a date before you ask them to reschedule cause you might figure out a way to make it - maybe you can come for 2 weeks, do the oath and the passport and leave again without needing to worry anymore. Sorry about your family emergency, I hope things get better soon...

If you can, try your best not to reshedule. Rescheduling can be a nightmare, it can take months or even a year. Btw, how many times did you travel in the past 3-5 years? I just want to understand how travelling often might impact the processing time because I travelled every summer.
