Visitor visa for sister in law - who should do it?

Hi everyone, just wanted to give an update. We applied for the visa, I wrote the invitation letter and we provided receipts of the expenses of our wedding, invitation etc to support her case (as she is single, never travelled outside her country, but does own property in Brazil and has her work...

March 2023 Inland Spousal Sponsorship Applicants

Hoping this means the first email will come very soon, but there was an update on the PR tracker that Background Check was complete as of November 29th! I saw that (at least one) other applications from March 2023 got their P1 email very soon after the Background Check was passed. The GCKey...

Visitor visa for sister in law - who should do it?

When you get the forms and steps, there are checkboxes around whether you are going to visit a family member who is a Canadian citizen, or who is a temporary resident. Is there any difference in how visas are processed or considered if we choose one or the other? Should she pick visiting a...

Visitor visa for sister in law - who should do it?

Hi everyone, I'm a canadian citizen, and currently sponsoring my wife for PR (inland). We got married in 2022 with a simple ceremony at the court house with my immediate family and my wife's closest friends, with the full intention that we would wait a year or two and then do a proper wedding...

Spousal sponsorship inland Quebec/never recieved invitation

Oh wow, that sucks! The IRCC letter that says to do the Quebec paperwork IS the invitation. As soon as IRCC tells you to do it, you must.

Has anyone received their OWP this summer?

Ours got approved August 5! And we got it in the mail this week. It was requested in April.

March 2023 Inland Spousal Sponsorship Applicants

Yes, we got AIP end of June. Regarding RAMQ, here's what we did... When we received the CSQ (end of April), the paperwork there seemed to imply we could go ahead and apply for things like RAMQ. So we booked a call with RAMQ to register, they confirmed on the phone we would only be eligible with...

Travel while waiting for inland spousal PR

I guess? We went to the US for our honeymoon (before submitting the PR) and there were no problems coming back to Canada. Anyway, now the situation is the following. Her OWP was approved, and they also gave her an eTA..... even though her country is not eligible for eTA? Not sure what's...

We included ours even though it was an electronic invite as well.

March 2023 Inland Spousal Sponsorship Applicants

Quebec PR Application - Open Work Permit - Is PA RAMQ eligible?

The RAMQ agent told us we could apply once the AIP was obtained, the AOR was not enough.

    Spousal sponsorship

Yes, all the steps went fast so far. AIP is the eligibility completed, but the background check is still undergoing. Even if that goes through, with the Quebec situation right now, no clue when the PR will actually be approved.... But, in the meantime, as inland, we will have OWP, and the...

    Spousal sponsorship

So some of what I'm writing are things that I don't know if they are indeed confirmed, but they seem to make sense. - The processing time looks back at past requests and tells you how long it took them to assess 80% of the requests. It's an indicator of what happened recently, not necessarily...

Spousal sponsorship - CSQ forms questions

Hi! Here's how we answered. We got our CSQ approved back in April. I'm the Sponsor (Canadian citizen) - spousal inland application. 546GF: - I put my date of birth - Section 2 is about the spouse of the Sponsor. Therefore this is you - so even if it seems illogical or redundant, you should...

Access to provincial health coverage while waiting for spousal PR (BC as an example)

BC is examplary in that they post the information clearly and publicly as to whom can quality, and they basically allow anyone who has applied to have coverage. No such luck in Québec- won't be considered before getting the AIP, and even for that, we had to schedule a telephonic interview to...
