I’m so confused by this. I’ve been told repeatedly not to go in and ask for a transfer request, that it can only be done on the phone.

I have been told by an agent on the phone that an agent at a regional passport office cannot transfer the file over to the local office, that calling the phone line is the only way to get a transfer. Is this true??

Does anyone know what the Winnipeg office is like? I’m wondering if I went in next week if they’d be willing to transfer my two kids applications from Gatineau and print them. We don’t fly until July 22nd, but I’m wondering if it’s worth it to wait in line or if they’ll just send me away. Thanks!

We are flying on July 22nd, still waiting on 2 kids passports that we sent on April 30th, received at Gatineau May 5th. Everything has been scanned in, payment has been taken. I sent two child passports (so new applications) and they were received May 5th. My credit card hasn’t been charged yet. Has anyone who sent a new application that was received on or after May 5th been charged yet?

You need to call this number 1-800-567-6868. I have found that around lunch time is the only time I’ve gotten through. And you need to tell them you have upcoming travel, they are the ones who can transfer your application to a local passport office.

Do you know if “under review” is different to “in examination”?
