I received my SA this morning. So...I feel like I should know what happens next, but I'm not completely sure. Now we wait for it to be "in process"?

NOVEMBER 2015 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

I got an interesting update this morning. They've removed our daughter from our application because "a person who has the right to Canadian citizenship cannot be sponsored." Apparently, even though I wasn't born in Canada (my dad was), since I was already a citizen when my daughter was born...

NOVEMBER 2015 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

I didn't use UPS but I used another courier, Purolator. Any of the couriers that make them sign at delivery would include it. I don't think it really matters who receives it, but it was kind of fun to see, anyway.

NOVEMBER 2015 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

I finally got our application in this month! It was delivered on 17 Nov 2015 in the morning and received by Erika. So far I have just been here to ask questions when I have specific questions, or to read answers to earlier posts about things I'm wondering about...but I keep coming back, so I...

From US, waiting for spouse PR, does a TRV make sense?

I am a dual citizen (US/Canada), but my husband and daughter are US citizens. We want to live in Canada. Right now I am a resident of BC (moved here a few months ago) and my husband and daughter are visiting (no visa, just normal travel from the US to Canada). We are applying for permanent...

"you and each of your family members" - for sponsoring a spouse

Thank you! It didn't really make sense that I would have to (basically) apply for residency since I already have citizenship, but I didn't want to leave anything out. :)

"you and each of your family members" - for sponsoring a spouse

I am a Canadian citizen by descent (never lived in Canada), living with my husband and 3 yo daughter (Americans) applying outland. I have noticed that on many pages it requests information about the principal applicant's spouse (me...but I am his sponsor). I'm looking at: Generic Application...

Family Class vs. Express Entry or both?

Thanks for sharing your recent experience. We will apply outland. I am curious about the idea of having him "visit" me. Since we are living together 'outland' I have to explain my plans to move to Canada when we he is approved. Does it make more sense for me to say that I am living wherever...

Family Class vs. Express Entry or both?

Thank you, this is exactly the information I was looking for. Part of my confusion was that I thought we would have to apply through our closest office (Los Angeles) and they have an average processing time of 34 months! :o So, you can see why I thought the Express Entry program looked like...

Family Class vs. Express Entry or both?

Well, I tried, but after I said he hasn't taken a language test it said he didn't qualify. We planned to have him do the language test back in January but ended up making a trip for an emergency kidney stone removal surgery instead. Since we are from the US and English is our native language...

Family Class vs. Express Entry or both?

Hi. I have dual-citizenship; my dad is Canadian but I was born in the US. My husband and daughter (almost 3 years old) are both US Citizens only. We are interested in obtaining permanent residency in Canada (to live in BC). We had originally planned to do the family class, since we would for...

What to do...Family sponsorship or work visa?

Hello, I am a Canadian citizen and my husband is not. We live in the US. We are interested in moving to Canada for an extended period of time--probably for several years--although we may decide to stay in Canada permanently. Here is my question: which is the best way for us to move? We...
