Once PA is in Canada, passport request is not needed. They give you pr through virtual landing. The process took about a month for my brother last year.

I have about 30 days until my flight to come Canada on TRV. I got the Information Letter today. Do you guys recommend I submit passport for PR stamp or come on TRV? Looking at the response in this thread, looks like it can take a month and it would be a risk for me.

Submitted PP on June 19th for TRV stamping. Reached IRCC office on June 21, no update since then. What the heck are they doing? It was never taking this long.

We applied on Apr 1st, but it got submitted as Apr 2nd, I guess because of Easter holiday.

Once again, I don't understand why people mail in their application. Why risk it when you can go in person? Yes, you have to invest some time and gas, but you won't have to worry about application getting rejected since they will check everything before taking it in. Not to mention fees for...

They took your original passport in? They didn't take mine. They took just the application with all copied documents. I submitted in person.

Why don't you just go in person? I don't understand why people spend money to courier the application. What if there is something wrong with it or something missing? They go by the book and even if one letter is off, you need to fill in brand new application. The good thing about going in person...

Submitted in person on Sep 22nd Date Of Acknowledgment 27-SEP-2023 Application status currently under-process. Hopefully, it doesn't take more than 2 months.

Go to any notary office and they will type it up for you once you explain. I had to do the same since our names are different on Indian passport.

So my Surrendering Application problem have been taken care of. Once I got a reply from Indian Council, I had to get an affidavit from a notary office attesting my name. Thanks you all for replying.

I went for walk-ins since we don't need an appointment for surrendering application. But I did not include original Canadian Passport, just a copy. They don't ask for it either nor they list in the check-list posted on their site.
