I went in surrey bls they did not allowed me for oci application without appointment wasted more than one hour in lineup. Appointment was showing two months later . What is different oci vs other services allowed walk in You are absolutely right but courier service through bls is very expensive.

I think they update once only when oci arrive at cgi in your jurisdiction.

Two months enough time acknowledge date on oci government website to count one month to receive. Total time I guess 6 weeks or couple of days more . It will show on bls website first few days later on government of India website. Good Luck.
