I received my OCI today. Here are the dates if it might help. Posted application - January 12 BLS acknowledgement - January 18 CGI acknowledgement - January 22 OCI website acknowledgement - February 9 OCI processed/ mailed to Toronto - March 3 OCI received at BLS - March 4 OCI received - March 8

What does this status “ Passport ready For Collection after OCI stamping” mean since I never submitted by passport? I applied by postal, will I be receiving a purolator tracking?

My OCI status details: Postal application mailed on January 12 to Brampton Received in January 13 Acknowledged by BLS on January 19 Received by CGI Toronto - January 22 OCI website acknowledgement - February 9 OCI status change to “processed” - March 2

I had a basic question. Given we don’t need to submit our original passports for OCI stamping, what do we get for OCI now? Is it a card? If so, is the card used for travel purposes?

My application is now up on the OCI website as of today. It shows “under process” for status. I didn’t receive any email notification, we have to keep checking daily.

Exactly. It wasn’t on the checklist but I was asked, one of the drawbacks of a postal application I suppose.

It appears that in almost all the cases, it takes exactly 3 weeks (to the day) between OCI website acknowledgment and OCI printing. Seems like clockwork!

My names on canadian and Indian passports weren’t the same and I had to get a notarized statement for that. I also had to include my wife’s Indian passport copy.

I sent my OCI application by post to Brampton on December. It was returned in January 9 because of lack of some documentation. I resubmitted on January 12. It was received on January 13, acknowledged on BLS website on January 22 and currently shows “processing at consulate general”. No updates...
