Well my wife did. As another poster on here mentioned, it was looked at when we were in cancun airport...supposedly. I dont remember them scanning our passports....but I remember them being very efficient when it came to vaccine passports. So who knows.

No. I thought there would be more questions on our return....he did not even scan or look at our passports....like he did not even ask if we had them on us. He looked at my phone for both my wife's and my vaccine passport. He glanced at them.

Ask as many questions as you like. We flew direct from Victoria, BC (YYJ) to Cancun Airport.

Going is no issue. But she boarded with no pr card (application papers she did have showing it was being processed). No issues. March of 2022.

We rented. It was a bit more renting from Seattle to Vancouver, BC. We have a friend that recently was in Mexico in the exact same position (mar of this year, expired PR card). Had no issues whatsoever boarding flight (west Jet). So, who to believe? It seems the message boards online are the...

Well, from Cancun to LAX. my wife showed her UK passport. Thats it. They did not even ask for anything else.

As I said in my post just now, we offered a visa the customs guy at LAX laughed at us. The airport was way more concerned about contraband it seemed.

Hello! Yes it did work. We flew from Cancun to LAX, then to Seattle, and drove a rental to Vancouver. Cost a bit...lol. LAX did not check the VISA we had for my wife. In fact, the customs officer laughed when we offered it. I forget what it is called...we did it online. The Canadian Customs...

Thank you to everyone in this thread. My wife and I have travelled all very Europe and into the us, never to Mexico and not over the past 4 years. We have changed our plans to fly into Seattle and are driving back. I appreciate the candor.

So why would the border officer say it was no problem?

So, for anyone reading this (looks like just a couple).....the citizenship of the traveler appears to be important. I just went to the Canada Border Services office and spoke with an officer. He told me she can absolutely go. She just needs to travel only on her British Passport.
