I've got the same Timeline as yours. I believe the GU is nothing more than someone trying to update your medicals expiry.

Same's my case only mine is single application for myself no spouse but it sucks that after doing all that hard work you're stuck and people with 6.5 IELTS score and applying 1 year later than you getting the PR at much lower CRS scores.
