I had planned to move back to India permanently, so I applied for OCI on August 07, 2024. Walk-in submission at BLS Calgary. I am now in India on eVisa. Hoping to receive the OCI in 3 to 4 months, if not received then will apply for extension at the nearest FRRO office in Gujarat.

I called BLS regarding my tracking status as 'Ready for pickup'. Its now shipped today with the tracking number.

My status is showing as 'Ready for collection' since Friday 26 July. Called BLS today informed them that I have already paid for the return currier services so they have now emailed their internal back-end team to look into it. Anyone had such status before?

My status changed today to : In Transit from Consulate General to BLS Centre

Wow OCI from India? do you know much about that? Because everywhere I read I learnt that OCI can not be applied from India. I am moving back to India and now that I already eVisa, I would love to not wait for OCI in Canada and move back ASAP and eventually apply for the OCI from India.

Surrender certificate is not required for tourist/visitor visa. I received my 1 year validity eVisa within 48 hours.

Thanks and which Jurisdiction did you apply at? I had sent to Surrey from Calgary and my processing date shows the same so I hope I also get it at least before 15 August so I can apply OCI before I leave for India :)

Hello everyone, my journey is completed here. Applied for the passport yesterday (express service with $50 fees - Calgary downtown center) picking up on Tuesday. Thank you for answering my questions, Congratulations to all and good luck to those who are still awaiting and end!
