Agreed. There's no harm in trying, but it's all up to you if you want to complicate things or just work with the process. I know we are all anxious about what's going on in the background and all, but all we can really do is be patient and trust the system. There are other applications that took...

I believe they have a dual intent temporary visa, in which you can apply as tourist/visitor, while you have a pending PR application. I think that works for family members. This is the same case for Inland applications, where their dependents landed initially as visitors/student/etc., then while...

I understand, but it is part of the process though. Looking at your timeline, you are at the last stage (security check) as well, having your pre-arrival already. So that PCC is most probably the last one that is pending for their review. Just keep the faith, you'll get there.

That is correct. For better clarification, in the Checklist, it says under Police Certificate, in 2 check boxes, 1. The country where you (or they) CURRENTLY live, if you have lived there for six months or more; and 2. The country where you (or they) have lived most of your (their) life SINCE...

Actually it was not about the expiration. My wife lived in 2 countries, and we submitted, only for the one she recently lived for more than 10 years now. Now in October, procedurally, they required the other Police certificate as well, to maybe clear the other years that my wife has lived as...

I was assuming you lived in Philippines, once in your life, the reason Manila VFS is processing your application. Yes, NBI clearance is the Police clearance for PH. If that's the case, then all you can do right now is wait for some good news anytime soon.

When you received the Pre Arrival Letter, it usually means you already completed the eligibility review. You're on the last step already, which usually takes the longest. If you have no security/criminal/offenses issues, all you can do is wait for the completion of the security check. Make...

It's really a case to case basis. You can't directly compare the status of your application, based on others, since we all have different circumstances or applications. Others have complete package that the VISA offices don't have anything to ask for, while others may need to submit additional...

It's case to case. I got pre-arrival as well, early Sept, but ended up asking for a replacement PCC. So it dragged the application, till they reviewed my additional document. As previously discussed here in the forum, receiving a Pre-arrival letter, meant that you already completed eligibility...

Best if you can provide your timeline. But, 2-3 months after completing medical and biometrics, usual or similar timelines suggest you'll here from them soon.

The way I see it, it gives you helpful information, but it could also give you reason to question the happenings and the process. :) When you say the lead officer? Is that from IRCC (in Ottawa?), not from the local visa office?

Thank you very much. This info helps a lot as well. I just observed your timeline, meaning in a span of 2 months, you were able to request for 2 GCMS notes already?

Thank you very much! This is very good and helpful information. I am also just trying to ease everybody else's anxiety, I think ATIP notes are really a better option than calling IRCC, as hearing from testimonials here, you don't get that much info really. Although judging by the 30 day...

Would it hurt to request for GCMS notes or ATIP notes just to know the current status of the application? I checked how to request one, and its fairly easy actually. Based on testimonial here, it would take a month to receive an update. I just feel it would be more helpful, compared to having a...

You can refer to other timelines, as everyone have different timings. Most likely compare to same VO as yours. It really depends on the VO. As observed, you can either receive it now (a few days or weeks after AOR2) or receive it after you get the pre-arrival letter.

Pre arrival letter and decision made

Recently my PA got a ghost update, a week after receiving a pre-arrival letter. For info, Biometrics and Medical were already done way before receiving the pre-arrival letter. Is that ghost update considered a good sign then? Just looking for something to feel good for it. :) Were there...
