No. Sponsor did not withdraw.
Immigration officer gave my friend two options: 1) withdraw application and let him in, or 2) they keep his passport and let him in, whilst they make an investigation.
He opted to go with option 2.
He just went back to the airport and speak to immigration...
Hello
This question is for a friend of mine who had a COPR issued and came to do his landing last week.
The immigration officer at Toronto Pearson said they can’t let him in because the application is refused. Apparently they requested for passport details and he didn’t respond.
He explained...
and if they don't agree to expediate your oath, that's not a reason to withdraw your application. Once you give them your travel dates, they will either arrange the oath before you travel, or most likely after you come back.
The funeral day could possibly be a national holiday (mourning day). Usually the funeral is 10 days after the death which I think falls on a Sunday. If they decide to make a national holiday on a weekday then possibly oaths on that day will be re scheduled

my expecation is that everything should resume normally, with oath pledge being to the King. The only disruption that may potentially happen is if there will be public holidays in Canada (possibly on funeral day). Folks with ceremonies on that day may need to be re-scheduled. Obviously that's...

Thanks Abbas. Issue is I’ve never received the test invite hence why I want to call them tomorrow to find out which office is processing my application
Oath scheduled on September 15 but no invite yet. I’m planning to call IRCC tomorrow to at least find out which office is processing my application. I never received the test invite so I’m concerned the oath invite may never show up too.
Was the passport request shown on the online tracker? I’ve done my test but I never received my test invite email so I wouldn’t know if they included a request for passport copies.
