Applying visitor visa for my parents (for tourism) as I have got a job in Canada and my immigration has been initiated

Someone quoted me here so got reply. Thanks for the help. It seems there is something known as CAN+ for people with valid US visa and travel history to Canada in last 10 years. My parents visa was approved in 3 working days after biometrics. It seems Canada hands out visitor visa freely to...

    Canada India Tensions

Yes, for me I would anyway not end up going to the US. I left US, went to India to be closer to my parents. But couldn't adjust well and decided to come to Canada, thinking I would pick the passport for future. Although for me the job market is very poor. I design antenna for Radar and wireless...

    Canada India Tensions

Not sure of Iranian experience. That wait is there in Canada too for security roles. I recently got top security clearance for a new job even though I hadn't spent 10 years in Canada. It took me 4 months, but company told for Iranian national who have not spent 10 years in Canada, sometimes it...

    Canada India Tensions

OCI are still being processed. Anyway, since everyone has family based in India not sure why people don't apply for OCI. I know people who left Indian citizenship 7 or 8 years back, super nationalist but don't even have OCI card. I don't think what your friend said is wrong. Unfortunately...

As an immigrant, how are you liking Canada? Do you regret moving there? Is life hard? Is the economy difficult? Other

Good for you. I never said "all US -> Canada" in my comment, I said most. I only know one person who moved to Canada from US in 2018 and would say "Best decision of my life". Ironically, in 2022 after getting citizenship he did move to US immediately. Like the thread said, give your opinion...

As an immigrant, how are you liking Canada? Do you regret moving there? Is life hard? Is the economy difficult? Other

Well Canada has freedom of speech, right? Or you are importing the "If you have issue leave the country" attitude from your home country :).

What would be your advice? Stay in GTA or move to windsor?

Yes I live in Ontario but have studied+worked in US for a decade. Many people approach me with this question, so I always say "Get Passport and run off on TN :)". Obviously people in STEM jobs and education. Maybe I should ask US government for honorary green card for promoting their country.

Travelling to the USA as a PR but without PR card

Without PR card it's difficult to go to US from flight. The best option you have to drive in the US, in a personal vehicle. Or drive to US and take flight from US. You can enter Canada with eCOPR by land border and in personal car. Sometimes they don't check visa stamp or PR card in US airports...

    Canada India Tensions

No reason to worry. Canada is not a gulf country, where rules are dictated by any royal family or a single person. US has decades of broken relation with Cuba and Iran, yet many Cuban and Iranian people come and study in US and even naturalize.

As an immigrant, how are you liking Canada? Do you regret moving there? Is life hard? Is the economy difficult? Other

After 8 months of honeymoon, I started disliking it. But maybe if you stay in US for a decade it makes some difference, as opposed to someone who directly moves from india. People who move from India don't get my frustuation, but recently met many people who lives in US before, and almost all of...

virtual landing - CoPR - PR card

    1. Send passport to IRCC centers in Canada for visa stamping. Flagpole or re-enter Canada as PR. 2. Send your passport photocopy, visa stamp and immigration that you are in Canada. And put you for virtual landing or IRCC portal. Second one would be slow i think. Few months back it took weeks...

Visit Visa Application (Using the new IRCC Portal)

It's a bit odd, as my parents got their visa few months back within couple of days. Somehow the application got missed, its hard to say. All countries haves some or other issue, not sure if Ukraine thing is playing a part. The good thing is Canada doesn't charge any extra fees for CAN+. I...

Visit Visa Application (Using the new IRCC Portal)

Its not even 5 working days. My parents received their visa under CAN+ in March 2022. They received CAN+ because of valid US visa, but travel history to Canada should also account.

Visit Visa Application (Using the new IRCC Portal)

Faster visit visa processing (5 working days or less post biometric) for people who have valid US non-immigrant visas or have visited Canada in last 10 years or so.

Visit Visa Application (Using the new IRCC Portal)

Yes it still exists. My parents got their visa within 3 working days of biometrics.

    Extend passport request letter

NO easy way to contact IRCC. They can get the passport stamped in US itself. All they need to do is to follow the guidelines for Canada visa submission post PPR. You can get passport stamped in any country, if you have the PPR. From what I know, receiving passport back in US takes less than a...

    New PR confirmation portal

NO GSS work permit applications are processed in Edmonton, some people who did not submit upfront medical ended up in local visa offices. The official rule states GSS work permits are processed in 2 weeks, but last year all applications were processed in Edmonton. There was a social media group...
