sorry in advance if this has been asked already... can anyone share (or pm me) their experience with immigration when landing for first time... especially how to fill out the declaration card that you get in the plane... is that even applicable to first timers? that card asks for value of goods...

from the members who have recently gotten their visas and have landed in canada (or anyone else with experience) did any of you have any extra baggage that you brought, more than the 2 allowed? my wife needs to bring 4 bags :o so need to find out how??? 2 is allowed and we would be paying extra...

my wife has gotten her passport back today as well :D took one month, got the ppr on June 1st, got the passport back on June 29... now to find a flight :) congrats to everyone else who has received their pp back, and IA everyone else will get theirs by EID :)

It's been 3 weeks since we sent in our passport and now finally today the status has changed to Decision Made. But it also says an officer will contact you regarding this decision. Anything to worried about?

i emailed them because on ecas it still shows 'in process' for our status... i would say if it doesn't come this week then email just in case...

its been 3 weeks as well for us... although our status still says 'in process' but I emailed CHC last week and got a response next day saying that the documentation/passport is done and they will send us the documents back in the coming days... well it's been a week since then and nothing yet...

Not really still sure why we got the Nikah objection :P We had our Nikah in dec09.. then i filled the papers.. in july10 had the rukhsati then later we sent in the updates... their objection was that we didnt have a rukhsati and nikah was done only for immigration purposes :P ... so we re-sent...

does anyone know where in khi do you send your passport from? I take it you can't go to any tcs, or can you?

not sure of the exact date but we sent in the response a few days after we received the objection letter... and via TCS as well... the thing is every time I send an email, I've gotten a response back within hours and they say that they have sent the letter... so first time i inquired they said...

Well they sent the 'not genuine' objection because at the time we applied we only had done Nikkah. Then 6 months later we did rukhsati and sent in updates. Either they did not get them or they were put in wrong file, but basically they thought we hadn't done rukhsati yet... So we resent...

hi all... just wanted to update that we got our PPR as well :) So IA it will take a few weeks to get back and wife be here before end of June :) 15 1/2 months since applying to CHC-Mississauga...

IA it will be the PPR :) But can't get tooooo happy since I don't trust CHC :P

hi all... anyone receive a response like this from chc: Information provided has been noted. Medical examination letter was sent to applicant on 21 April 2011 and a request letter was sent out on 31 May 2011. I had sent an inquiry for my wife's case, she just did her re-medical a week ago...

yeah i think best advice for anyone marrying someone in pakistan in the future would be to invite ppl from CHC to their wedding and have pics taken with them... maybe then they will believe that the marriage is genuine.. or maybe if they don't like the food they may reject even faster :P

yes i think that was my mistake that I did not follow up... Now once we do the reMED we're going to fax the receipt right away then i'll also email after a week just to make sure...

have you inquired anytime in regards to them sending stuff? hopefully nothing of yours got lost... in our case when we got our objection letter, the envelope had the right address but the letter had someone elses home address :o just don't understand how they work there...

basically i resent them everything and I mean everything... the thing is i had done rukhsati in July and had sent in an update via my MP in sept... then upon MP's request I had resent update my self as well in feb... even then i got the objection... so i sent in shadi pics, honeymoon pics, tix...

yeah I think you will get both the reMed and ppr together, Inshallah... did you receive any objections or anything like that?
