By current status do you mean work? She is not working at the moment. What we are worried about is the fact that she has no health coverage as well. I know that many people are very kind here and tell us not to panic, but the truth is we are very new at this and somewhat lost, and at the moment...

I was under the impression that it would take 6-8 months. I just find that if we apply for outland it would mean she would have to go back home, if she is ask for an interview which would mean a burden on our finance. What would you suggest?

Well from reading a few threads, I believe the best choice for me would be Inland, seeing that my spouse and I live together here, and we have no plans to travel abroad.
