You have to enter from the US and be a citizen of a visa exempted country.

I'm not sure WP at the POE has resumed. It was suspended due to covid. Since your partner is an essential worker, she might be able to get a WP but I suggest you contact IRCC

It was immediately I submitted my application (Oct 22) I guess cos I have a valid TRV so no need for biometrics. I don't even need PPR just the letter of introduction (or whatever it is called)

Is it wiser to wait till WP is approved before entering the EE pool? I know they are different processes but one of the criteria for WP approval is proof that you'll return to your home country once it expires. Won't entering into the EE pool show that you have a desire to stay in Canada...
