I did it in Max Mohali and My wife had her medical in SPS Ludhiana. Both were good no issues at all. Fees in Max is Higher but they are more organized then SPS Ludhiana.
I think this favours inland applicants their first demand is as follows:
"1. Re-evaluate processing priorities at IRCC in favor of inland applicants as the majority of who have arrived in Canada in the past two to four years are now carrying implied status which impedes their access to banking...
On September 28, 2021, IRCC updated its processing procedures for PR applications where primary applicants or dependents are overseas. We do not know yet what are the instructions, hopefully, they are positive. Check official page below...

I think it was more of a personal decision than any other factor. However, the IT or academic jobs sector is not good in Australia as compared to Canada. Furthermore, getting PR in Australia is very tough.
I visited Australia for one year to do my Post-Doc they never even stamped my passport when I arrived or left their borders. Everything was electronic. I was surprised when I heard that Canada needs my passport to give me the visa.
