Vaccine rollout is difficult because Canada has no domestic capacity to manufacture vaccines. I am hoping the situation gets better as there are more supplies and the US finishes up vaccination in late Spring.
In terms of processing immigration applications, it's hard to foresee how the pandemic...
IRCC is prioritizing those already in Canada and turning the temporary workers and international students into PRs. And even if they didn't meet the 400k target, we would be bearing the consequences and IRCC has less to lose.
Yeah, only IRCC knows for sure, I was just speculating. But what has been confirmed is that IRCC would provide those already in Canada with easier paths to become PR while the pandemic is lingering on.
Do we have an estimate how many EE applications are pending at IRCC? Somewhere between 50k and 100k? What are they gonna do with so many cases, even if they resume to full capacity...
