That is fine, just upload an explanation document suggesting that it was an oversight on your end and not to penalize the kid for an honest mistake. Being transparent is better

We were let in, they did ask us why we didn't have the PR with us which we explained as an oversight and that kid was born in US after securing the PR, so we couldn't submit his in the family PR. There was some nervous moments for sure but it was largely ok. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Sorry, should have been more clear. I just intend to step back into Canada with my son for now. I will continue the PR application as you rightly stated once I am in Canada but for now, the biggest concern is clearing the immigration and getting back into Canada. Will him being out of status...
