Wouldn't that be some kind of misrepresentation? Like not to mention your girlfriend upon entry but later being sponsored by her and saying that you have already been together long before that entry?

Yeah but the custom officer will ask about why he's visiting Canada, how should he answer that question to avoid further "interrogation”? The officer might order him to leave Canada in a very short time
