yes, I myself find it hard to believe that the lawyer would hold the passport. I have been talking to the secretary and she has clearly indicated that I have to pay up or the passport will be in the safe until the visa expires. I have yet to talk to the lawyer but I know the secretary speaks...

guys.. USC's when they enter Canada, do they scan the passport or just look at it visually and waive you in? Also, if you have a PR, do you have to show both the PR or the USC passport... I would imagine they would just swipe the PR card and give you the ok? thnx

They will ask for documented proofs such as univ enrollment, work docs, pay stubs. apt leases, receipts, bills may not go thru really well cause anyone can do that for you. @ the border they will ask for your PR and/or your passport. If they inquire further they may question your PR...
